GET INTO THE WINTER SPIRIT
It’s hard to believe that 2013 is already winding down into winter. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it and then comes Christmas right afterward, a time of joy and wonder, not to mention magnificent stress. Unwinding from that stress can involve a variety of pass-times, whether it’s trying a new wine, seeing a Broadway play or simply taking a stay-cation and reading a good book.
In a city as vibrant and thriving as Manhattan, there are plenty of ways to get out but still unwind. We’ve compiled some of our favorite winter activities in Manhattan.
TAKE A LIMOUSINE RIDE AROUND TOWN SQUARE
When it’s cold outside, taking a tour of the city to see the lights or simply behold the snow-covered parks and beautiful scenery can seem like a challenge. How a Long Island Limo can make your holiday better. Enjoy the sights from the comfort of the backseat, whether it’s with your significant other or your whole family. Your chauffeur will worry over the parking and the navigation. All you’ll have to do is exercise your awe for such an expansive and beautiful place.
ICE SKATING AT BRYANT PARK
One of the most movie-worthy winter activities in New York is ice skating; we’ve all seen those picturesque images of winter-wear clad skaters, floating around the rink at the Rockefeller Center amidst the glow of the lights and the towering building. While the Rockefeller Ice Rink is certainly an experience that everyone who visits NYC during wintertime should have, the Bryant Park Ice Rink is also state-of-the-art and admission is free. You can even rent skates for a very low price if you don’t have your own.
GRAB A CUP OF COCOA
If there’s anything that goes perfectly with a cold winter’s day, it’s a cup of hot cocoa. The warmth, the classic taste and the comfort that comes along with it can turn any outing in a cozy, memorable dream. One of our favorite places to get hot cocoa in NYC is Eataly, the new Italian eatery that offers authentic Italian food and one of the best cups of cocoa in the city.
However you make the most of your winter’s day out in Manhattan, remember to book dependable car service to pick you up and get you home. New York City traffic is even worse in the winter time, and you don’t want your relaxing day out to be ruined by not being able to find a good parking spot.
