BEING PRODUCTIVE WITH JFK CAR SERVICE
If you’re driving to Long Island, your JFK car service commute can take upwards of an hour, leaving you with a considerable amount of free time as you ride from the airport to the hotel. Here are just a few ideas of how you can take advantage of your hour-long commute:
1.) CHECK EMAILS
If you have a bad habit of letting your inbox inflate to three-digit numbers, then there’s no better time to cut it down and delete the unnecessary messages. If you’re vigilant about keeping your inbox clean, answer emails that are awaiting your response.
2.) TAKE A NAP
A luxurious sedan or limo is the perfect place to relax and let yourself drift off for awhile. Not much of a napper? Try meditating. Sleeping or concentrating on clearing your mind may feel like you’re being the opposite of productive, but either can help you recharge and tackle the rest of your day.
3.) MAKE PHONE CALLS
Call a client and check in to see how their business is doing. Or call a friend or loved one and check in with them. A car ride is a great time for phone calls, because with all the other distractions of other settings removed, you can give the other person your full attention.
4.) MAKE A TO-DO LIST
You may not be able to plan your next week down to a tee, given that unexpected meetings, tasks, or appointments might occur at the last minute. But now’s a great time to come up with a general idea of what you need to get done next week.
5.) CHARGE YOUR ELECTRONICS
Your vehicle will have ports where you can charge your electronics. If you’re just coming off of a flight, you’ve most likely used up some battery at the airport or in the plane, so now is a good time to charge up your devices for the next go-round.
6.) READ
There are most likely some materials that need your attention, whether they’re reports or some other type of document. If that’s not the case and you want to catch up on current events, however, you can also request that your vehicle come with your publication of choice.
7.) RESEARCH YOUR DESTINATION CITY
If you want to take a break from working, you can look up restaurants and attractions to visit during your free time. You may even ask your Chauffeur for his or her recommendations, since they’ll know all the best spots in the city. As a bonus, planning a fun activity for yourself may even help you focus on your work better, because you’ll be setting up a reward for yourself after you’re done working.
8.) LISTEN TO A PODCAST
If reading isn’t your thing, another great way to get information is through podcasts. From NPR to the Harvard Business Review, there are a range of companies whose programs can educate and inspire you.
9.) WRITE A LETTER
When was the last time you got a letter? In this fast-paced world, letters have become a quaint relic of the past. Try writing a letter to your children or some other family member. Kids will love getting something in the mail just for them, and adults will love receiving something in the mail that isn’t a bill or credit card offer.
If you choose to work during your commute, you may find yourself with more time to relax and explore the city when you arrive at your hotel. But if you choose to do something else, that may be just the break you need to give your full attention to a project later on. Either way is good—it just depends on what you need most at that moment. However you fill your commute time, the peace and quiet of your sedan will let you do whatever you choose without interruption.
